Stunning Bathroom re do!

The Transformation: From McDonald's to Modern Marvel - Our Bathroom Remodel Journey

Embarking on a bathroom remodel can be both an exciting and daunting experience. When we first looked at our bathroom, we couldn't help but think it had a quirky charm reminiscent of a McDonald's restaurant—thanks to the bold red and yellow fixtures. While it might have been fun in a nostalgic way, we knew it was time for a change. Our vision was to create a space that felt modern, sleek, and timeless, with a palette of navy(or black depending on how you see the color!), white, and brass accents. The result was nothing short of spectacular, and we're thrilled to share the transformation with you!

Before: A Fast-Food Flashback

Before diving into the details of the remodel, let's take a moment to appreciate the "before" state of our bathroom. The bright red sink faucet and red yellow tiles were the room's most defining features, giving off a fast-food chain vibe. While it was certainly unique, it lacked the sophistication and tranquility we were aiming for. The fixtures were outdated, the vibe not relaxing, and the overall aesthetic was far from the modern elegance we desired.

After: A Navy(or Black) and White Oasis

The transformation began with a clear vision: a navy and white color scheme, clean lines, and a mix of classic and contemporary elements. Here's how we achieved our dream bathroom:

  1. Flooring: We chose a stunning black and white patterned marble tile for the floor, adding a touch of luxury and visual interest. The pattern draws the eye and sets the stage for the rest of the design.

  2. Vanity: The centerpiece of the room is the custom navy wood vanity. This piece not only provides ample storage but also introduces a rich, deep color that contrasts beautifully with the lighter elements in the room. The vanity is topped with a sleek, white countertop, creating a striking contrast.

  3. Cabinetry and Countertops: To complement the vanity, we opted for IKEA cabinets with a wood countertop. The natural wood adds warmth to the space, balancing the cool tones of navy and white. It's also a practical choice, offering plenty of storage space for all our bathroom essentials.

  4. Shower: The shower area is a true highlight, featuring white subway tiles on the walls and marble penny tiles on the floor. The subway tiles give a classic, timeless look, while the penny tiles add texture and a bit of luxury underfoot. A glass enclosure ensures the space feels open and airy, while also showcasing the beautiful tile work.

  5. Paint and Fixtures: We painted the walls a crisp, clean white to keep the space feeling fresh and bright. The interior doors/trim are painted the same bold color as the vanity. While the name says black, it reads Navy to most who look at it. The brass fixtures and pulls add a touch of elegance and warmth, bringing a cohesive and polished look to the entire room.

The End Result

The final result is a bathroom that feels completely transformed. Gone are the bold, clashing colors of the past. In their place is a harmonious blend of navy, white, and brass, creating a space that's both modern and timeless. The new vibe is both functional, with plenty of storage and a spacious feel. Every detail, from the patterned marble floor to the custom vanity, contributes to a cohesive and beautiful design.

We're thrilled with how our bathroom remodel turned out and hope it inspires others looking to update their own spaces. The transformation proves that with a clear vision and thoughtful design choices, you can turn even the quirkiest of spaces into a chic and modern oasis.
